Introduction
An email is a written form of communication. It is brief and formal and is sent through a computer network.
Points to remember while framing an email:
- Keep the Subject line crisp, clear and informative.
- Write the most important information first.
- Use bullets and numbering to keep the message short and clear.
- Use simple and short sentences for communication.
- Use short paragraphs to help understand the email quickly and clearly.
- In case the receiver’s name is not indicated, you may write ‘To whomsoever it may concern’.
- ज्याला इ-मेल पाठवायचा आहे, त्याचे नाव दर्शवायचे नसल्यास ‘To whomsoever it may concern’ हे सुरुवातीस लिहावे.

Answer:
To: [email protected]
Subject: Complaint regarding a faulty television set purchased from M/s Harilal and Sons
To whomsoever it may concern,
We recently purchased an Oriental LED television set from M/s Harilal and Sons, Worli, on the 12th of March, 2021 (Copy of the Bill attached). The set had a warrantee period of 2 years. It has just been 2 months and the T.V. is not functioning properly. The screen blanks out after an hour of viewing for about 10 to 12 minutes. This is affecting our viewing experience.
Kindly send over a technician at 802, Shanbaug, Rake Street, Worli – 400 100, so that he can look into the matter at the earliest and relieve us of this inconvenience.
Yours faithfully,
Mr. D. N. Chavan

Question 4.
Write an email to your Uncle, who stays in Delhi, thanking him for gifting you a bicycle on your birthday.
Answer:
To: [email protected]
Subject: Thank you for the wonderful gift!
Dear Uncle,
I hope you are in good health. I’m writing this e-mail to thank you for the birthday gift. It was the most thoughtful and amazing gift that I received. Since a letter would take too long to convey my feelings, I thought of conveying my gratitude via e-mail.
Dad had promised to get me a bicycle for my 17th birthday, but I got it a couple of years early, all thanks to you! The model is also the one that I wanted. It was like you could read my mind!
So, I thank you once again from the bottom of my heart for the wonderful bicycle. It will enable me to keep fit and will also help me reach school on time. I do appreciate your gesture.
With love,
Samar
