(1) Reasons for the television as the popular medium are:
(i) Television is an audio visual medium.
(ii) Through this medium it has becomes possible to cross the inherent limitations of newspaper, radio and show the actual visuals of an event to people.
(iii) It attracts a large number from views of all age groups. It also used for educative, information, entertainment purpose.
(iv) Hence, Television is on of the most popular medium.

(2) Indian history written by the British officers was prejudiced as they ridiculed Indian culture. Indian historians realised that their history was shown in bad light. Historians from different parts of India not only critical but also started writing history of India. They started writing regional history. Hence writing of the regional history got momentum.

(4) Nowadays it has become easier to travel because of the easy availability of a number of options of railways, marine and air transport. Because of technological advancement, international tourism has become easy. The world has come together because of economic liberalisation. People travel for various reasons like sports events international seminars and conferences, film festivals and religious tours. Therefore the number of people travelling back and forth from India has increased.

(5) Saint Eknath composed Bharuds with a purpose of educating people on various aspects of life. Bharuds had a wide range of subjects, dramatic quality, easy rhythm and humour. People liked the way they were performed. A message was given in a humorous way.

The custom of making clay images for the rituals has been prevalent in India since Harappan times. It still continues today in many region, like Bengal, Bihar, Gujarat, Rajasthan. The Ganesh idols masks of Gauri, bull figurines are made for festivals of Bailpola; wooden memorials. Veergals (memorial stones), the decorated clay storage bins, etc., are a few examples of the folk traditions of the sculptural art.

(3) Bal J. Pandit was the first Indian Cricketer to pioneer cricket commentary. People used to listen very eagerly to his broadcasts from Akashvani. His well-studied commentaries were full of information about the history of the playground, career history of the players, anecdotes about the game and established records of the game. His commentaries used to be entertaining because of these historical details.

“Bharat Ek Khoj”
“Bharat Ek Khoj”, a serial telecasted by Doordarshan has a special place in the history of Indian television serials. It was based on “Discovery of India”, a book written by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. It was directed by Shyam Benegal. This serial presented the history of India from the ancient to the modem period, throwing light on social, cultural and political history of respective periods.

  2. In the process of completing the project of conservation, preservation and development of a heritage site due precaution should be taken to avoid hurting the sentiments of the local people.
  3. Participation of the local people in the project can be facilitated.
  4. Systematic plan can be designed to employ the local skills in a creative way and create better opportunities of livelihood.

(2) Feminist historiography means the restructuring of the history from the perspective of women. The writings of Simone de Beauvoir helped in establishing the fundamentals of Feminism. The Feminist historiography emphasised not only on the inclusion of women in history but also on the rethinking of the male-dominated perspective of history.

It drove historical research to focus in depth on various aspects of women’s life such as their employment, their role in trade union, institutions working for their cause, their family life, etc.

In the historical writings after 1990, women were portrayed as an independent social class.

(3) Tourism and Hospitality is an industry with potential to create maximum employment opportunities. It has tremendous scope for experimentation and innovation. A good number of opportunities of employment are available in the tourism and hospitality industry. The local handicrafts and cottage industries also begin to develop. (4) According to Karl Marx history was not about abstract ideas, it was about living people. Human relationship were shaped by the fundamental needs of people and their ownership as well as nature of the prevalent means of production to meet those needs. The accessibility of these means to different strata of society may not be equal. Thus inequality causes a division of society into classes, leading to a class struggle. (1) Regionalism:
India is a vast country with great physical diversity. People belonging to different religions have their own language culture and traditions. We find diversity in literature, education, history and movements. The feeling of affinity developed about one’s own language and region gradually turns into the identity consciousness and it gives rise to regionalism. People start giving preference only to their language and region. This is known as regionalism.

(2) Water Revolution:
Water revolution started from 5 June, 2015 in all parts of India. This is people’s movement that depends on involvement of people, social organisation, NGOs and different kinds of organisations.
